Texas and District 5 Facts

Each legislative session, the Texas Legislature considers thousands of bills. However, only a small percentage of them will ever arrive on the Governor's desk for approval or veto. In hopes of being signed, bills pass through a network of subcommittees and committees, debates, and amendments in both chambers of the Legislature.

The Guide to Texas Legislative Information is a very simple explanation of the process required for a bill to become a law.
