LEGISLATIVE STAFF - Capitol Office

Constance Allison - Chief of Staff/General Counsel

Constance began working for Senator Ogden in 1998. She has also served as an assistant attorney general of Texas, a private litigator, and an assistant general counsel to Governor Rick Perry. She is a graduate of Texas A&M University ('92) and of the Texas Tech School of Law ('95).

Betty Cotte - Administrative Director

Betty has worked for Senator Ogden in his capacity as a state legislator since October 1996. She has worked for upper-level management in private industry for over 30 years. Her primary responsibility is administrative oversight of the Capitol and district offices.  Residents of District 5 may contact Betty in regard to purchase of Texas state flags flown over the Capitol, Senate proclamations and resolutions, appointments by the governor, and other constituent issues.

Patty Guerra - Legislative Aide/Press Liaison 

Patty manages Senator Ogden's press and media relations.  She also handles constituent casework and addresses policy issues in the areas of Health and Human Services, Transportation, and Education. Patty graduated from Boston College with a degree in Political Science. During the 78th Legislative Session,she worked for Senator Ogden on the Infrastructure Development and Security Committee. Patty worked at the District Office in Round Rock before joining the Senator's Capitol staff in September 2004.

EAST DISTRICT OFFICE - Bryan

Jennifer Barrett - Legislative Aide/Scheduler

 

Jennifer Barrett is Senator Ogden's scheduler.  District 5 constituents and others wishing to meet with or extend an invitation to Senator Ogden should contact Jennifer for assistance. Her other responsibilities include personal and telephone contact with constituents, casework responding to their needs, and internet communications. Jennifer is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a Bachelor's Degree in Leadership Development with an emphasis on Agricultural Economics and a Master's Degrees in Agricultural Development and Communication.

 

Mary Jo Hurley - Legislative Aide

Mary Jo Hurley manages Senator Ogden's correspondence, speeches, and internet communications. Her other duties include personal and  telephone contact with constituents and casework corresponding to their needs. Mary Jo also represents Senator Ogden at events in the eastern part of Senate District 5. Her prior experience includes management positions in Texas public higher education, healthcare, and nonprofit organizations. Mary Jo holds a cum laude bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts and has taken graduate courses at Texas A&M University and UT Dallas.

WEST DISTRICT OFFICE - Round Rock

Pat Berryman - Legislative Aide

Pat Berryman has been a member of Senator Ogden's staff since 2001, except for a leave of absence to support Senator Ogden's campaign for re-election.  She is responsible for personal and telephone contact with constituents and casework responding to their needs.  Pat also represents Senator Ogden at events in the western part of Senate District 5.  She holds a Bachelor's degree and has been a classroom teacher, Chamber of Commerce staff member, and small business owner.  She is currently a member of the Georgetown City Council.

Stephanie Leavell - Legislative Aide

Stephanie was the Assistant Clerk for the Senate Finance Committee during the 80th Legislative Session before becoming a Legislative Aide in the Round ock office. Stephanie is responsible for personal and telephone contact with constituents and casework responding to their needs. Before working with the Finance Committee, she worked for the Texas AgriLife Extension as a County Extension Agent. Stephanie is a graduate of Texas Tech University with a Bachelor's Degree in Human Development/Family Studies. In 2005, Stephanie recieved her Master's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis of Non-Profit Leadership from the University of Houston-Victoria.

SENATE FINANCE COMMITTEE STAFF

Sarah Hicks - Committee Director

Sarah Hicks began working for Senator Ogden in 2002. Prior to joining the Senator's staff, she received a master's degree from the George Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University.  Sarah is responsible for state budget and fiscal matters.

Annette Graves - General Counsel

Annette joined the Senator's committee staff in January 2003.   Before working with the Finance Committee, she was a Policy Analyst and the General Counsel of the Senate Infrastructure Development and Security Committee.  A 2002 graduate of the University of Texas School of Law, Annette is also a licensed pharmacist and has practiced in Texas since 1992.

Amy Jeter - Committee Clerk

Amy joined Senator Ogden's staff in January 2003, and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor's degree in Political Science.  Previously, Amy clerked for the Senate Infrastructure Development and Security Committee and the Senate Education Committee.  Prior to joining Senator Ogden's staff, Amy served as a legislative aide in the Texas House of Representatives.

Julie Haeber - Budget Analyst

Julie joined Senator Ogden's staff in April 2006.  Before working with the Finance Committee, she worked in the Texas House of Representatives for five years and is a graduate of Texas A&M University.

Daniel Harper - Budget Analyst

Daniel graduated from Austin College in 2002 with a BA in Economics and received his MBA in Finance from The University of Texas at Arlington in May 2004. Daniel joined Senator Ogden's committee staff in August 2004.
