| Speed limit lowered on stretch of Texas 6 |

State Sen. Steve Ogden said Thursday he thinks fatal accidents can be prevented on Texas 6 if motorists slow down, wear seat belts and stay in the right lane.
Ogden joined transportation and law enforcement officials Thursday to unveil new speed limit signs requiring motorists to drive 55 mph on an eight-mile stretch of Texas 6 from south College Station past F.M. 159 to the Navasota River.
